Overview
This day-long workshop provides grade-level insights and strategies for helping struggling readers in the classroom. Strategies for addressing needs of struggling writers will also be included.  The sessions will be conducted by teachers who have a successful track record of working with challenged readers and writers in their classrooms including learning disabled and ESL students.  These workshop leaders will share their accomplishments and problems in meeting the needs of struggling readers and assisting them in their literacy development.  

A major theme of the one day workshop is that all students can best be served in the classroom as a community of learners. Participants will learn many practical and workable ideas for designing effective interventions in the classroom.
