The basics of classroom and nonformal environmental education associated with the coastal marine environment are addressed along with the fundamentals of interpreting environmental information for the public. We take an interactive, inquiry-based approach; so bring your water shoes. Topics include: teaching ecosystem and environmental science principles, design and communication of environmental exhibits/information, selecting and designing environmental curricula, and applying the Maine Learning Results. The course is suitable for experienced teachers and naturalists, as well as those who want to explore these professions. (This course will be held at the Wells Reserve, Wells, Maine)
