This course is a three-day educational “tour” of Maine’s working forests. Foresters, biologists, and land and mill owners will lead in-the-field discussions about nutrient cycles, plant and animal biology, sustainable forestry, forest ecology, recreation, wildlife, wood products, and many more subjects related to Maine’s forest resources. Trained facilitators will present a Project Learning Tree workshop, using this nationally acclaimed educational curriculum as framework for learning about the importance of Maine’s forests.
