Academic Credit
Graduate Credit (EDU, HCE, HRD, SED, SPY)
These courses may be applied to USM graduate degree programs, according to program policy.
Inservice Graduate Credit (EPA/EPB/EPC/EPS)
Description:
- developed collaboratively by CEHD/Professional Development Center and school systems, singly by school systems, or singly by CEHD/Professional Development Center
- address professional development needs of school systems, teachers/administrators
- comply with USM College of Education and Human Development graduate course standards for intellectual inquiry and credentials of instructor
- comply with USM College of Education and Human Development graduate course requirements for number of instruction/contact hours, grading policies, and evaluation procedures.
- carry academic credit at the graduate level
Applications:
- may be used, with Maine Department of Education approval, towards certification, recertification, and endorsements.
- may be used as elective courses in a USM graduate degree program but can not be substituted for required courses.
- are not automatically transferable as electives to graduate degree programs of the College of Education and Human Development of the University of Southern Maine.
Approval for course acceptance is a two-step process:
– Review/recommendation by student’s faculty advisor
– Approval of course by appropriate graduate program of USM College of Education and Human Development
NOTE: Prior approval is necessary for students currently matriculating in USM
College of Education and Human Development graduate programs.
CEU Credit
These courses provide continuing education units (CEUs). Pass/Fail is the evaluative measure.
