President's Charge 3/10/11

The President's Council on Diversity is the institutional embodiment of the University of Southern Maine's commitment to diversity and inclusiveness. In consultation with the president, this Council will advocate for the enrichment of the university's academic life, organizational practices, and institutional mission through institutionalized respect for a diverse range of life experiences, cultural backgrounds, points of view, and intellectual perspectives. This Council will assist the president's efforts to ensure that the university provides a welcoming and supportive environment for students, faculty, staff, and citizens from all walks of life and backgrounds.
