PROTOCOL:     SPCC - Spill Procedures

 

5 gallons or less - Did not get into storm drain, floor drains, or ground water.

 

1.         Secure the spill and/or area.

 

2.         Bag or can and call CES&H for pickup/disposal.

 

3.         Clean surface.

 

4.         Fill out SPCC Incident Report (internal reporting only if small quantity)

 

5.         Submit to your campus FM office for filing.

 

6.         Clean up excess oil with absorbent pads and/or material.

 

More than 5 gallons:

 

1.         Secure the spill and/or area.

 

2.         Call the CES&H to report the spill incident.

 

3.         CES&H will notify state DEP, and cleanup instructions will be provided.

 

NOTE:            If CES&H is not available, the campus FM director would make necessary arrangements and notification.
