Summary
Specific steps must be completed before, during, and after a study for a research proposal involving human
subjects is reviewed by the ORC. These required steps are part of the federal regulations governing research
at public universities. The three major submission requirements are:
- Completion of computer-based
training in the protection of human subjects by the student(s) and faculty mentor(s);
- Submission of all required and signatured forms and supplemental documentation to the ORC, and;
- Submission of a research proposal that summarizes the planned study.
