Institutional Research Council Goals
Institutional Research Council
The Institutional Research Council (IRC) at the University of Southern Maine was created to better coordinate those functions related to serving the institution’s research and data reporting needs. Under the chairmanship of the Director of Institutional Research and Assessment, the council will meet at least twice a semester to:
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency and compliance of data values and reporting processes for internal and external constituencies
- Collaborate to produce a comprehensive and efficient program of institutional research and assessment that informs institutional decision-making and enhances institutional planning and effectiveness
- Develop standardized data formats and structures for university-wide reporting
- Inform fellow members about changes in reporting requirements and enterprise information system upgrades that will impact data processes and procedures
