STUDENT CONDUCT COMMITTEE
APPLICATIONS FOR THE FALL 2007 STUDENT
CONDUCT COMMITTEE ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED!
The Student Conduct Committee (SCC) is the hearing board that is responsible
for reviewing cases from students who have been sanctioned by a conduct
officer for violations of the Student Conduct Code. When a review hearing is held three to
seven members come together with their faculty or staff advisor(s) to hear
the case. The chairperson of the SCC
is a student. The SCC makes
decisions on whether or not policies were violated and what if any
sanctions should be imposed. The SCC decides sanctions ranging from a
Disciplinary Warning up to and including dismissal from the University of Maine System. They also decide on any educational
sanctions such as counseling, community restitution hours, or research
projects.
Additionally the membership of the Student Conduct Committee (SCC)
comprises the student membership of the Academic Integrity Board
(AIB). The AIB is responsible for hearing cases involving cheating,
fabricating and plagiarism of academic assignments.
