Area of Expertise: Access to care, physician practice, rural health, children's health, vulnerable populations.
Research Interests: Ms. Lenardson's research interests focus on access to care for people who face barriers because of where they live, their health status, the type of services they need, and other social and demographic characteristics. She is currently serving as project director on a study of changing physician practice for the state Medicaid programs of Maine and New Hampshire and a study of the barriers to integrating primary care and mental health in Maine.

In this policy brief, Dr. Andrew Coburn of the Muskie School discusses three of the main components of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA): health insurance coverage, delivery system improvement, and cost containment, highlighting some of the provisions of the law that have already been implemented and those where important implementation decisions will have to be made.
