In her capacity as Assistant to the Director, Beverly has served the Casco Bay Estuary Partnership (formerly the Casco Bay Estuary Project) since it joined the University in 1997. From 1982 until 2006 she was the also Assistant to the Director of the Marine Law Institute in the University of Maine School of Law. Additionally, she was the manager of the Ocean and Coastal Law Journal formerly the Territorial Sea Journal from 1990 until 2006. She administers the National Coastal Assessment (NCA) Program for Maine which began 2000. NCA is a coastal monitoring program funded by the EPA which uses a common set of environmental indicators to survey coastal resources and assess their condition. Final data will be published and made available for public access on the internet. Beverly works tirelessly in supporting the Casco Estuary Partnership mission of protecting and restoring the water quality, and fish and wildlife habitat of the Casco Bay ecosystem, while ensuring compatible human uses.
