• Oversees the work and schedule for over 30 workstudy students learning many aspects of event presentation and arts management

• Creates and distributes posters, flyers, programs and season brochures

• Assists performers with stage requirements

• A regular director of productions for the Department of Theatre, she is also adjunct faculty in the Department of Theatre and teaches "Acting for Non-Majors" and "Energize! a Holistic Approach to Performance." She is the author of the acting book, "A Balancing Act."

• A Fulbright Scholar, she is dual French and American citizen, and fluent in both languages.

Mary Snell
Arts Promotions Director

Mary Snell manages booking of and promotions for all concerts and other public presentations for the USM School fo Music, and the production promotions for the USM Department of Theatre.

• Oversees general promotions and image of the School of Music including maintaining an overview and collaborating on season brochures, advertising, web page, and video media
• Writes all press releases; edits Music newsletter, contributes to local newspapers
• Maintains contact with local press and media and with local arts organizations
• Presents multi-cultural musical and theatrical events such as concerts, plays, video screenings
• Handles promotional photography
• Fluent in English and Greek

Margaret Wilkis

Margaret Wilkis coordinates with University Advancement and plans and implements for the School of Music all aspects of fundraising including::

• program advertising
• corporate sponsorships
• charitable foundations
• personal and individual contributions
• special events

She plans and oversees special events such as the annual holiday gala, receptions, soirees, etc.  Most importantly, Ms. Wilkis works throughout greater Portland and the region to raise awareness of the vital role the USM School of Music plays as a major and professional musical resource for the community.

Lori Arsenault coordinates with School of Music to present to you, the internet visitor, an accurate picture of the School of Music at the University of Southern Maine.

• maintains placement in online directories
• assists internet visitors with the use of the site
• maintains alumni news

Lori works from her Gorham home office late at night, and during the day is the administrative manager to the dean of the School of Applied Science, Engineering, and Technology at USM, and a 1999 USM Music grad, a classical guitar major.
