Collegium Musicum
The USM Collegium Musicum is an ensemble dedicated
to the historically informed performance of early music, from the Medieval,
Renaissance and Baroque periods. Chamber music techniques, including singing
and playing one on a part, careful intonation, tone colors, and stylistic
issues are emphasized. The members of the ensemble are selected by audition
and need to have excellent musical standards because of the challenging
nature of this music. At least one concert each semester is prepared and
presented to the public.
