A graduate of Oberlin College, Jean Rosenblum has been an active teacher and performer since her move to Maine in 1968. She was principal flute of the Bangor Symphony for ten years and currently is a member of the Colby Symphony Orchestra and the Maine Chamber Ensemble. She has performed concertos with the Colby, Bangor, and Farmington Symphony Orchestras and has played solo and chamber music recitals throughout New England. In addition to teaching at the University of Southern Maine at Gorham, Jean is on the faculty of the Portland Conservatory of Music, and Colby College in Waterville, Maine. She is the co-editor of The Rosewood Book, published by Carl Fischer, Inc., an anthology of flute and guitar transcriptions used extensively throughout the world.
