Grammy Award & 2x Latin Grammy Award winning mastering engineer Adam Ayan works at the world class mastering facility Gateway Mastering & DVD in Portland, Maine. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Lowell's Sound Recording Technology program, Ayan began his career at Gateway Mastering in 1998, and in 2001 his mastering suite at Gateway was opened for business. With over 30 Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum recordings to his credit, Adam's diverse client list includes recent projects for The Rolling Stones, Faith Hill, Rascal Flatts, Sarah McLachlan, Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. Adam won his first Grammy Award in 2006 for his mastering work on the Jelly Roll Morton boxset - "The Complete Library of Congress Recordings By Alan Lomax”. In 2007, Adam won 2 Latin Grammy Awards for his mastering work on the Juan Luis Guerra album “La Llave De Mi Corazon”. Adam has also been nominated for several TEC (Technical Excellence and Creativity) Awards for “Outstanding Creative Achievement”, including 3 nominations in 2007. Adam serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Portland Music Foundation (www.portlandmusicfoundation.org), a new non-profit whose mission is to help support, organize and nurture the music community in Portland, Maine.
