Panel Discussion and Film on Oil Drilling in Alaska

March 30, 2005

"Oil on Ice", an award-winning documentary about the controversy over drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), will be shown at the University of Southern Maine on Monday, April 4, at 6:30 p.m. on the 7th floor of the Glickman Library, Portland, and will be followed by a panel discussion and question period.

The film is the winner of the 2004 Pare Lorentz Award, from the International Documentary Association. The film makes a connection between the fate of the Arctic Refuge and the communities that depend on it to the decision about America's energy policy.

The event is free and open to the public. Light, environmentally-friendly refreshments will be served.
