USM Environmental Science and Policy Program Students Won't Sleep in this Saturday!

Students from the University of Southern Maine Environmental Science and Policy Program Student Group will be working with other community volunteers connecting Portland Trails' Fore River and Capisic Pond Trails. The USM students will be meeting with other volunteers at the Maine Orthopedics parking lot at 1601 Congress St., Portland, at 8:45 a.m., Saturday, April 26, and will work on connecting the two existing trails until noon.

After lunch, the students will help the City of Portland plant evergreen trees on Hobart St. from 1:30-3 p.m.

These activities were chosen by the students as Earth Day community service projects for their group. For more information, contact Sarah Coombs, president of the Environmental Science and Policy Program Student Group at 893-2005.
