News Advisory: Sports Psychology Institute at USM
A psychology workshop that offers a session that examines
appropriate and inappropriate coaching and spectating behaviors
on the part of parents involved in youth sports will begin
Wednesday, June 25 and run through Friday, June 27 at the
University of Southern Maine. All sessions will take place
in USM's Luther Bonney Auditorium, Portland.
William F. Gayton, chair of USM's Psychology Department,
and an expert in sports psychology, will again bring together
experts from throughout the country to speak on topics as
diverse as how organized sports affect the psychological development
of kids, to aggressive reaction by spectators at sports events.
The Institute is designed for college students seeking undergraduate
credits and professionals working with athletes.
