USM Students Presented School of Business Scholarships and Awards

The following University of Southern Maine students received awards at the USM School of Business Recognition Day held at the end of the academic year. Recipients are listed below in alphabetical order of their hometowns.

Augusta:
Catherine M. Foster, daughter of Colleen and David Foster, received a Mary Purkis and Horton P. Gilman Scholarship. She is a 1998 graduate of Cony High School.

Gray:
Susan Marie Parker received the Department of Business Administration Certificate of Excellence for Performance at the Highest Level in Marketing. She resides in Gray with her husband Lee Parker.

Kennebunk:
Lisa Trundy Reid received the Department of Accounting and Finance Certificate of Excellence for Performance at the Highest Level in Auditing; the Department of Accounting and Finance Outstanding Student Award; and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma as a graduate student. She resides in Kennebunk with her husband, Brian Reid. She is a 1986 graduate of Sumner High School.

Lewiston:
Katherine I. Novak recieved the Charles N. Greene Scholarship and the Robert W. Berry Memorial Scholarship. She resides in Lewiston with her husband Daniel Novak.

Lisbon:
Pamela M. Kunselman received the Department of Accounting and Finance Certificate of Excellence for Performance at the Highest Level in Accounting Information Systems.

Lamoine:
Amy Swanberg received the Department of Business Administration Certificate of Excellence for Performance at the Highest Level in Operations Analysis. A graduate of Mount Desert Island High School, she is the daughter of Butch and Debbie Swanberg.

Millinocket:
Chad M. MacPherson received a George D. Woodward Accounting Scholarship. A 1999 graduate of Stearns High School, he is the son of John and Priscilla MacPherson.

Old Orchard Beach:
Valerie S. Markgren received the Department of Business Administration Certificate of Excellence for Performance at the Highest Level in Associate of Business Studies.

Portland:
Julie Delano received the Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award and the Department of Accounting and Finance Certificate of Excellence for Performance at the Highest Level in Finance. A 1999 graduate of Wiscasset High school, she is the daughter of Lew Delano and Terri Delano of Westport Island.

Lavinia E. Onitili-Gelineau received a Mary Purkis and Horton P. Gilman Scholarship and a Presidential Scholarship. Originally from Romania, she currently resides in Portland with her husband Chris Gelineau.

Johnathan H. Williams received The MacDonald Page Schatz Fletcher & Company Scholarship, The Burchard A. Dunn Memorial Scholarship, The Owen Hall Award, and The Certificate of Excellence in Taxation. He was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma as an undergraduate and was nominated for the Howard F. Greene Scholarship awarded annually by the New England State Societies of CPAs.

South Portland:
Jennifer Lyn Shaw was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma as an undergraduate and the Golden Key International Honor Society. She received a George D. Woodward Accounting Scholarship, a School of Business Scholarship Fund Award, the Department of Accounting and Finance Certificate of Excellence for Performance at the Highest Level in Financial Accounting, and the Beta Gamma Sigma Scholarship.

Sullivan:
Lisa Trundy Reid received the Department of Accounting and Finance Certificate of Excellence for Performance at the Highest Level in Auditing; the Department of Accounting and finance Outstanding Student Award; and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma as a graduate student. She resides in Kennebunk with her husband, Brian Reid. She is a 1986 graduate of Sumner High School.

Windham:
Kari Leigh Lomonte received a Charles N. Greene Scholarship.

Kathleen Pease received a Charles N. Greene Scholarship. She resides in Windham with her husband, Russell Pease.
