New Members Appointed to USM Alumni Board
The University of Southern Maine Alumni Association has named
new members of its Board of Directors, and has named the new
board president and vice president for 2003. The association
includes nearly 30,000 members, including more than 22,000
active alumni throughout Maine.
Richard A. Grant is a resident of Brunswick. He earned
his BA in business administration in 1981 and his MBA in 1990
from USM. He has been involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters,
United Way, and is currently a member of the USM School of
Business Alumni Chapter.
Peter E. Harrison of Saco is the principal of Young
School in Saco. He earned his masterŐs degree in educational
administration from USM in 1991. He has served as president
of the Maine Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation,
and Dance, was on the board of CASA, and is currently involved
in the Foster Grandparents Advisory Council.
Laura E. Hnatow of Portland is the account/print production
manager at Brown Design & Company. She earned her MBA at USM
in 2002. She is currently a member of the School of Business
Alumni Chapter.
Theresa C. Jordan of Scarborough is the owner and
president of Jordan Maritime Industries, Inc. and Jordan Marine,
Inc. She received her degree in art education from USM in
1993. She has served as secretary on the board of Day One,
she is the class agent for the USM class of 1993, and has
recently finished training in hospice care.
Paul C. Kapothanasis of Westbrook owns and serves
as treasurer of K. Brothers Inc. in Westbrook. He earned his
degree in accounting from USM in 1982.
Karen Oak of Scarborough is a retired teacher. She
earned her teaching degree from Gorham State College, a predecessor
school of USM, in 1966 and her masterŐs degree in education
from USM in 1982. She is involved in the ADK Sorority and
is the president of the Gorham Alumni Association.
Bruce Roullard is a resident of Gorham. He is a senior
loan officer at Allied Home Mortgage Capital Corporation in
Gorham. He earned his degree in business administration from
USM in 1984. He is involved in the Sigma Nu Fraternity, Greek
Life Alumni Council, and the Portland Lions Club.
Nell H. Wing is a resident of Cape Elizabeth. She
is an human resources specialist in the Resource Center. She
graduated from USM in 1997 with a degree in adult education.
She is currently involved in the Adult Education Alumni Chapter.
Kate Tarbox of Springvale is the new president of
the USM Alumni Association Board of Directors. She is the
owner of the marketing firm KDT Communications. She earned
her degree in communication from USM in 1986. She has been
involved in the New England Society of Healthcare Organization,
York County Child Abuse Neglect Society, United Way of York
County, and the Maine PR Council.
David Levesque of Newcastle is the new vice president
of the USM Alumni Association Board of Directors. He owns
the law office of David Levesque, P.A. in Newcastle. He earned
his MBA from USM in 1993 and his JD from the University of
Maine School of Law in 1997. He is a member of the Maine State
Bar Association, serving on the Board of Governors and as
chair of Young Lawyers. He is also a member of the American
Bar Association.
