Academic Freedom and the War on Terrorism October 29, 2007 University of Southern Maine Professor of Philosophy George Caffentzis will present a USM Russell Chair Lecture, “Academic Freedom and the War on Terrorism: A Lobster Tale,” from 4-5:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 13. This is the first of four lectures on academic freedom Caffentzis will present as holder of USM’s Walter E. Russell Chair in Philosophy and Education. The lecture will take place in the University Events Room of USM’s Glickman Family Library, Portland. Refreshments will be provided and the public is invited to attend this free lecture. Each holder of USM's Walter E. Russell Chair in Philosophy and Education receives an honorarium and presents public lectures on issues of importance in education and/or philosophy.
