USM Hosts Sport Psychology Institute

Why do sports fans invest so much emotion, time and money into their team even in the face of adversity? For some it's an escape from reality, for others it forms their identity. Daniel Wann, sports psychologist from Murray State University, explores this question during his presentation “Parental Involvement in Youth Sport: Examining Appropriate & Inappropriate Coaching and Spectating Behaviors” at USM’s 2008 Sport Psychology Institute. Sessions will be held June 25-27, in USM’s Joel and Linda Abromson Community Education Center, 25 Bedford Street, Portland, Me.

The institute is led by USM Psychology Professor William Gayton. A schedule of the sessions appears below.
