USM’s OLLI Honors Members in Their 90s

April 29, 2008

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) of the University of Southern Maine will be honoring members who are 90 years old or older at a special ceremony at 1 p.m., Friday, May 2 in Room 303 of USM’s Payson Smith Hall, Portland.

The OLLI Board of Advisors voted to award the 22 nonagenarians who take classes through OLLI lifetime memberships. This program, which includes musical performances, is free and open to the public. For more information, call Susan Morrow at 228-8181.

USM’s OLLI is one of 16 Senior Colleges throughout Maine and participates in the Maine Senior College Network. In addition, OLLI is an affiliate of the Elderhostel Institute Network and serves as the National Resource Center for Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes throughout the country that were established through the generosity of The Bernard Osher Foundation.
