Robert Wood Johnson Foundation “Cover the Uninsured Week” at USM April 30, 2008

April 24, 2008

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to attend a health fair for "Cover the Uninsured Week" at USM’s Woodbury Campus Center in Portland.

This is the fifth year the USM College of Nursing and Health Professions is participating in "Cover the Uninsured Week,” a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation project which seeks to improve health care for all Americans.

“Cover the Uninsured Week” brings together business owners, union members, educators, students, patients, physicians, nurses, faith leaders and their congregants and organizations in all 50 states and the District of Columbia to demand that our nation's leaders find solutions for the more than 46 million Americans living without health insurance.

The event is sponsored by graduate nursing students from Helen Peake-Godin's leadership and health policy class. There will be blood pressure screenings, information on nutrition, smoking cessation, health care, and medical coverage.

For more information, visit the Web Site http://covertheuninsured.org/
