Tasha Dunham Book Fund Established

June 14 , 2007

To commemorate Livermore Falls resident Tasha Marie Dunham's passion for helping children with disabilities, the USM College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) established the Tasha Dunham Book Fund in her memory. Dunham was a 1996 graduate of Mount Blue High School who lost her battle with cancer in June 2006 while enrolled in USM's Master's for School Psychology Program.

The endowed fund will help graduate students in the CEHD School Psychology Program purchase books required for their coursework.  The fund was completed this spring through the efforts of CEHD faculty, staff and students. The  first award will be made this fall.

Dunham is remembered as an energetic and passionate advocate for the use of scientifically-based programs to help children with autism.  She worked at the Margaret Murphy Center for Children in Auburn.

For more information about the Tasha Dunham Book Fund or USM's School Psychology Program, contact Rose Mahoney at 207-780-5220, or visit http://www.usm.maine.edu/cehd.
