News ReleasesPublic Invited to Engineering Week Expo at USM February 16, 2007 Students, their parents, engineers and educators will gather in Gorham next Saturday, February 24, to take part in an exposition designed to spark interest in the field of engineering among Maine's K-12 students. The University of Southern Maine will host the 2007 E-Week Exposition as part of Maine's National Engineers Week celebration. The annual E-Week Exposition will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in USM's Costello Sports Complex on the Gorham campus. (Directions available at http://www.usm.maine.edu/generalinfo.htm) The program will give students opportunities to interact with engineers from all disciplines who will share their knowledge of engineering and technology. The Exposition will feature interactive displays and demonstrations by Maine engineering and manufacturing firms, agencies and associations, and engineering colleges. In addition to the demonstrations and exhibits, there will be activity tables set up by engineers and educators for kids, parents, and the general public to challenge the designer and problem solver in everyone. The Maine Engineering Promotion Council, an organization created to help advance the engineering profession, organizes the Engineering Expo and related events. There will be a suggested donation of $2 at the door.
