News ReleasesUSM Hosts An Evening With Cindy Bullens April 10, 2007 Cindy Bullens, veteran singer, songwriter, and musician, will share her music and stories at the University of Southern Maine Evenings at Abromson series event, “An Evening with Cindy Bullens,” from 7 – 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 3. Bullens will perform music from her newly released “Dream #29” and her inspirational album “Somewhere Between Heaven and Earth,” written in response to the tragic death of her young daughter. Her stories provide an upfront, fun, and emotional look inside the music industry and the life of a successful musician. Bullens is an internationally acclaimed artist with two Grammy nominations and 25 years of experience in the music industry. In the course of her career she’s worked with many famous musicians, including Bryan Adams, Bonnie Raitt, and Bob Dylan. Between tours, she wrote the music and lyrics for the 2001 Broadway musical “Islands,” which was performed as a benefit for the families of 9/11 and as a PBS documentary. This spring she taught a class, “The Music Business: The Artist’s Experience,” for USM’s Center for Continuing Education. This event is $15 for general admission, $10 for USM students, staff, and OLLI members. For more information, contact Molly Morell at 780-5931 or visit http://www.usm.maine.edu/cce/. |
