Attorney/Photographer Honored at SOL Ceremony
Attorney John H. Montgomery III, whose photographs of NYC firefighters after September 11 received wide notice, received the L. Kinvin Wroth Distinguished Alumni Award at the graduation convocation for the University of Maine School of Law. Montgomery, class of 1977 and a partner in the Portland firm of Bernstein Shur Sawyer & Nelson, spent the weeks following the 9/11/01 World Trade Center attack photographing the surviving firefighters in Greenwich Village’s Ladder Company 3. The Portland Museum of Art exhibited his work, “Ladder Company 3 FDNY Photographic Portraits by Jack Montgomery,” last December.
