Rita Heimes Logan Joins University of Maine School of Law
Logan has specialized in intellectual property law for the past four years, first at a law firm in Colorado and recently at Verrill & Dana in Portland. She has extensive experience in trademark prosecution and licensing, copyright registration and licensing, intellectual property litigation, and representation of clients doing business on the Internet. She has also worked closely with the technology and e-commerce community in Maine. The School of Law houses the Technology Law Center which offers courses in intellectual property and technology law. The Center hosts national conferences on major issues in e-commerce, technology and intellectual property law. It also sponsors the newly-established Maine Patent Program, which will help Maine entrepreneurs with the U.S. patent process. Logan has a B.A. in journalism and later graduated with honors
from Drake University Law School. She has clerked for Judge Robert Beezer
on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. |
