USM President Appointed Director of AASCU

President of the University of Southern Maine, Richard L. Pattenaude, has been elected to serve a three-year term on the American Association of State Colleges and Universities Board of Directors.

Pattenaude has served as AASCU’s state representative and as a member of the Task Force on Cultural Diversity and the Advisory Committee for the Center for Economic Development.

AASCU is comprised of more than 425 public colleges, universities, and systems. These institutions enroll more than half of all students enrolled in the nation’s four-year institutions.
Pattenaude has served as USM president since July of 1991.
