CHRISTINE GALBRAITH, associate professor of law, had
her article, "Access Denied: Improper Use of the Computer
Fraud and Abuse Act to Control Information on Publicly Available
Internet Web sites," accepted for publication by the University
of Maryland Law Review. It is expected to be published in
the next few months.
BARRY H. RODRIGUE, assistant professor of art and
humanities, Lewiston-Auburn College, co-presented "The Globe,
the World, and Le Monde: Revolution in the 19th and 21st Centuries,"
at the Great Falls Speakers Forum in Lewiston last May. At
the second International Research-Practical Conference on
The Anti-Totalitarian Left: Past and Future that was sponsored
by the Praxis Centre and the State University of Moscow, Rodrigue
presented "Globalization, Cultural Diversity, and Change in
the United States."
R. BRUCE THOMPSON, assistant professor of psychology,
co-presented the following four conference papers in April:
"Social Loafing in Preschoolers: Exploring Theory-of-Mind
as a Mechanism for Change in Collaborative Effort," was presented
with BILL THORNTON, professor of psychology, and USM
students Alice Hallett, Jessica Carter, Sarah Dugas, Andrea
Davis, Marissa Smith, and Kyle Bernier, at the Society for
Research in Child Development Biennial Conference held in
Tampa, Fla. The paper also was presented at the Maine Psychological
Association, Colby College and at USM Poster Day.Ê"From Social
Welfare to Psycholinguistics: Re-visiting Video Data from
265 Low Income Families to Explore the Development of Preschoolers'
Problem-Solving Discourse," was presented with USM student
Jessica Carter, at the Society for Research in Child Development
Biennial Conference, as well as the Maine Psychological Association
Conference and the USM Poster Day. "Gender Differences in
the Use of Collaborative Speech Among Parents and Adolescents,"
was presented with USM student Stacie Arsenault at the Maine
Psychological Association Conference and USM Poster Day. Thompson
co-presented "Picture-Driven vs. Piece-Driven Strategies in
the Completion of Jigsaw Puzzles: An Investigation of Preschool
Spatial Performance" at the Society for Research in Child
Development Biennial Conference in Tampa, Fla.
