John Voyer, associate professor of business administration, and Maine business executive John R. Massaua, a small business development counselor with Coastal Enterprises, Inc., attended the Price-Babson College Fellows Program at Babson College, in Wellesley, Mass. last summer. They will complete the terms of the Fellows Program by co-teaching a graduate course in USMs MBA program during spring semester, 2001.
The prestigious 15-year old Price-Babson Program program promotes co-instruction between selected members of the academic and professional business communities.
Voyer and Massaua will redesign a graduate course in the MBA program on strategies for businesses, giving it an entrepreneurial twist, Voyer said. He has become interested in adjusting the schools academic program to include an entrepreneurial dimension in most classes.
Massaua was chosen by the School of Business from a strong field of candidates. Among his many successes, Massaua was a founding officer and vice-president of operations with Staples, Inc.
Voyer, who has advised such wide-ranging firms as National Semiconductor, Maine Medical Center, and J. E. Goold & Company, is the author of the teaching text titled, The Strategy Process: Collegiate Edition, and co-author of the Strategy Process Analyzer, an electronic publication.
