The Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures offers a uniquely rich and diverse humanities education with majors in Classics, French, and Spanish.  Classes in other languages are also offered on an ongoing basis, such as German, Italian, Russian and Japanese.  The study of world languages, cultures, and literatures provides students marketable skills for a wide variety of professions in the global marketplace.

A teacher education track is available to students majoring in either Classics, French or Spanish and is designed to provide prospective teachers a strong academic foundation along with a continuous focus on both the theory and practice of teaching through a sequence of pre- internship education courses and field experiences.
