practitioner at the Corinna Family Practice in the town-owned medical
office building on Route 7. She has been a family nurse practitioner
for more than seven years, and has practiced at Guilford Medical Associates
since 1995. A Greenville Junction resident, Lisa has 20 years of nursing
experience. 1983Linda C. Cohen became the Portland city clerk on June 18, 2001. She was formerly the South Portland city clerk. She was also elected chair of the Cumberland County Civic Center Board of Trustees for 2002. Andrea L. Harvey has been promoted to vice president at Peoples Heritage Bank in Portland. She will continue to manage the Peoples branch at 449 Forest Avenue in Portland in her role as business development and sales manager. She joined Peoples in 1987 and has 15 years experience in banking. She is also an ordained deacon with the Westbrook United Methodist Church where she is a youth pastor. Jay Menario has been promoted to managing director, the top position in the WorkAbility Division of CORE, Inc., a national provider of integrated disability and absence management in Portland. Edward Meyers was appointed clinical manager of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Virginia Health System. Mary Korbet Singleton remarried in December of 2000. She and her husband, Byron, have two children and three grandchildren. Mary works as a clinical research coordinator and registered nurse at Eastern Virginia Medical School. 1984Sharon G. Widger Carl L. Smith is working on his second undergraduate degree. He is studying art history at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Va. 1985Daniel M. Janes has been appointed senior data analyst for the Gamma Ray Spectrometer on board the 2001 Mars Odyssey spacecraft mission. The spacecraft entered orbit around Mars in October and will spend the next three years mapping out the elemental abundances of the major geological regions of Mars. This will include a global map of water deposits, their variation with depth near the surface, and the seasonal changes of the polar caps. Francoise G. Roy, of Biddeford, retired from her accounting practice in 2000 and spent her first winter in Florida this year. 1986 Michael E. Profenno Mark E. Chase is the director of business development for Zipcar in Cambridge, Mass. Kelly Goodwin and his wife, Patricia, adopted a 6-month-old boy from Guatemala in June of 2001. Kelly is the vice president/operations manager for Comerica Bank in Boston. Kevin R. Morrissette is a grad student in the English department at UMass Boston. Before returning to life as a student, he held administrative appointments at Harvard University and the University of California at San Francisco. Andrew M. Siegel, who owns When Pigs Fly, a bread bakery in York, writes that his company recently opened its first retail store in York. 1987 Elizabeth M. Higgins Laura C. Foye has been promoted to senior vice president in
the Corporate Banking Department at Peoples Heritage Bank in Portland.
She is responsible for commercial lending and business development.
She joined Peoples in 2000 and has 25 years experience in banking. Patricia
M. Libby was promoted to vice president in the Human Resources Department
at Banknorth Group, Inc., in Portland. She provides general human resources
support for Banknorth in areas such as employee recruitment, benefits,
and compensation. She joined Banknorth in 1994, and has 15 years experience
in banking. 1988Wayne Holden, of Sanford, is a teacher at Spurwink School in
Portland. 1989Doris Ames is an access reimbursement specialist at the Sweetser
Family Institute in Portland. In November, her 10th and 11th great-grandchildren
were born six days apart. Number 12 is due in June. Joseph Bruno
was named president of Sable Oaks Golf Club and Development Co. in South
Portland. He is responsible for the management of the property and will
institute and oversee long-term growth plans at Sable Oaks, an 18-hole
championship golf course. A resident of Raymond, Joseph was named president
of the Augusta-based GHS Data Management, formerly Goold Health Systems
in 1995, a position he holds in addition to his expanded duties at Sable
Oaks. He also is president of Community Pharmacies, a statewide group
of 12 pharmacies that is one of the fastest growing in New England.
Sable Oaks, GHS, and Community Pharmacies are all pat of The Waldron
Group of Companies, based in Falmouth. He is a licensed pharmacist,
as well as a state representative. Jean B. Lawrence was presented
with the Bowdoin College Distinguished Teaching Award in April of 2001.
In June, she was honored by the Region 8 Cooperative Board and the MCSI
staff for her work with the youth of the Mid-Coast schools. She continues
as an English instructor at Mid-Coast School of Technology in Rockland.
Michelle E. Mondor transferred from the Biddeford High School
Guidance Department to the Sanford Primary School Guidance Department. |
