Smith Scott Adams has been elected to the office of general president of the American Postal Workers Union Portland Maine Local. He has worked at the Postal Service for 18 years. He lives in Scarborough with his wife, Joann, and their three children, Tyler, Jacci, and Shane. Deanna M. Nadeau, who earned an M.S.Ed. at USM was named one of two recipients in Maine of the prestigious Milken Family Foundation Educator Award, which comes with a $25,000 prize. She received the award at a surprise ceremony (see related story). 1993 Theresa C. Jordan Alice Cash wrote that she became interim M.B.A. director for USM's School of Business in January. “I truly enjoy assisting students in realizing their educational goals,” Alice says. Abbotoni, of Windham, was promoted to vice president in the Marketing Department at Banknorth Group, Inc., in West Falmouth. A senior product manager, she manages products offered by Banknorth. Krista joined Banknorth in 1994. 1998James A. Bois, who received a B.S.N. at USM, earned a master of science in nursing from the University of Maine at Orono in May. He began graduate studies at USM before transferring to UMaine. He was accepted into the Chi Eta Phi Nursing Society, a co-ed nursing honors organization, and as a member of the Outstanding Student Honor Society. He is eligible to complete professional certification examinations to be credentialed as a nurse practitioner and advanced practice registered nurse in the specialty of family health primary care. 1999Lori Arsenault wrote that she graduated with a degree in music performance. “As a result of my work-study position working for the USM Arts Promotions Office, I have been working independently in the field of artist management since 1998, and continue to be the webmaster for the USM School of Music (9 years!),” she said. In 2002, Lori started to work at USM full-time in the School of Applied Science, Engineering, and Technology, where she is the administrative manager in the Dean's Office. She continues to play classical guitar, and is a musician/cantor at Sacred Heart/St. Dominic Parish in Portland for masses every Saturday and Sunday. |
