The fifth annual Alumni Association Scholarship Golf Tournament was held on June 19, 2007, at Val Halla Golf & Recreation Center in Cumberland. Thanks to our many golfers and sponsors, it was our most successful tournament to date, raising over $9,000 for student scholarships. Eighty golfers gathered for a sunny afternoon round and enjoyed great contests, prizes, and company. This year the team of Hannaford No. 2 claimed first place, with team members Kerry Stevens, Ron Hanson, Jim Walton, and Mike Foster.
University Credit Union generously sponsored hole-in-one contests featuring prizes of round-trip airline tickets, Callaway Big Bertha irons, a flat screen TV, and $25,000 in cash! Pro Search sponsored and staffed the putting green again this year. Golfers could enjoy a seated massage in the massage tent, courtesy of Kirsten Kirchner, who generously donated her time and services to the tournament. Proceeds from the massages went directly to the scholarship fund, as did revenue from all course contests. Golfers enjoyed an excellent buffet dinner and the raffle prize drawings and awards ceremony following the tournament.

Chaired by Spencer Droggitis ’98; this committee included Alumni Association President Robin Mullins ’91, ’98, Alumni Association Board member Theresa Jordan ’93, Tara Nau ’02, Kevin LaFreniere, and Matt Early. Without their hard work and dedication, this tournament would not be possible.
