Lewiston-Auburn College Reception

In September 2007, the Alumni Association hosted a reception for alumni of Lewiston-Auburn College and their guests. Attendees were welcomed back to campus by USM Interim President Joseph S. Wood and LAC Interim Dean Marvin Drucker, and mingled in the Atrium Gallery among the current exhibition of work by 26 sculptors from around the state working in stone, bronze, welded steel, wood, paper, ceramic, and mixed media. After the reception, guests were treated to a tour of the new facility given by Nancy Whitehouse, USM LAC curriculum technology coordinator. The new wing is home to The Learning Works, which serves as the research and operational hub for the College for ME-Androscoggin Initiative. College for ME is a collaborative effort among community leaders from higher education, K-12, adult education, business, and economic development organizations who are committed to identifying and addressing barriers that prevent area residents from pursuing or achieving their higher education goals.
