College of Education and Human Development Honors Alumni

In September 2007, the College of Education and Human Development hosted its annual recognition ceremony, and added 13 names to the Bailey Hall Wall of Achievement. The College of Education and Human Development created the display to recognize alumni whose achievements and service have been honored by the various professional associations for their respective fields. The 2007 inductees include: Arthur O. Berry ’50, USM professor emeritus of education; Becky A. Brink ’97, National Distinguished Middle Level Principal of the Year, 2007; Melissa H. Dunn Costello ’52, USM professor emerita of education; Katherine Grondin ’86, ’96, ’06, National Distinguished Principal of the Year, 2007; Daniel D. Hupp ’72, ’81, Employee of the Year, Maine Department of Education, 2006; Allyn W. Hutton ’77, ’84, National Distinguished High School Principal of the Year, 2007; Jacqueline P. Kelly ’73,’83, National Distinguished Principal of the Year, 1993; Josephine F. Matthews ’57, UMPI associate professor emerita of education; Crystal Priest ’89, ACTEM Technology Educator of the Year, 2001; Robert Sprankle ’01, ACTEM Technology Educator of the Year, 2005; Joe D. Spurlock ’85, Cincinnati Area Chemistry Teacher of the Year, 1996; John M. Sutton, Jr. ’72, USM professor emeritus; and Cynthia D. Tanous ’74, Gerald LeVasseur Award, 1993.
