Literacy CAS Student Receives Foundation 51 Grant

Literacy CAS student Cynthia Lasher was granted $1,000 for her application titled "Electronic Books for Struggling Readers" which will help demonstrate how electronic readers can help help struggling readers by being able to adjust font size, adjust line spacing, and allow students the ability to hear sounds which is very important for students with vision problems. Electronic readers also offer some degree of "anonymity" for student not wanting to carry printed books that can indicate their current reading level.
