Scan & Deliver

Posted June 1, 2011

Scan & Deliver is a free electronic delivery service for USM faculty, students and staff for items that are owned by USM. You may request and obtain electronically scanned articles from our print collections, chapters from books when available and excerpts from reference materials.

Requests are placed through your USM ILLiad account: http://illiad.usm.maine.edu/

Course reserves, special collections and materials deemed too fragile or brittle for scanning are not eligible. All copyright restrictions apply.

The library will fill up to 5 requests per patron/per business day. Requests are filled within 24 hours. Patrons who place a scan & deliver request that cannot be processed will be notified via email within 24 hours. If possible the request will automatically be referred to interlibrary loan. The most common reasons a request cannot be processed are: copyright violation, item is checked out, missing or lost or too fragile to scan.

A copy of the scanned material in PDF format will remain on the library server for 30 days.
