USM Libraries

Distance Learning Services

The University of Southern Maine Library provides a full range of library services to students taking online classes. The goal of the libraries is to support the research needs of distance learners as well as those students taking classes on the Portland, Gorham or Lewiston campus.

To access online resources students must have a USM ID card and be registered with the library. It may take several days for the library database to be updated with student info. It is important that students contact the USM Card Office for their ID card early in the semester. To obtain a USM ID card email  usmcard@usm.maine.edu or call 207.780.5600 & ask for Jim.

Resources and services for off-campus students are listed below. I am happy to answer any questions, so contact me today: Casandra Fitzherbert or 207.780.4279.
