This program, designed in collaboration with the Department of Teacher Education, is for students who want to become certified to teach K-12 German, Latin or Spanish. Upon completion of this 4.5-year program, students will be fully certified to teach, in addition to having a B.A. from the College of Arts and Sciences, with a major in one of these languages. After completing the program and teaching for a year, students may complete an additional 13 credits and earn a Master of Science in Teaching (MTL).

Requirements for the program:
1. Completion of the major in German, Classics (Latin concentration), or Spanish
2. Certain State of Maine requirements (such as Praxis test and finger-printing)
