Scholarship Information
![]()
USM offers a wide variety of scholarships to deserving students. Information about current scholarships is available on the Student Success Scholarship page. It is a complete guide to all USM sponsored scholarships, including those specifically for USM LAC students.
Please note that in addition to those scholarships available only to students enrolled in certain colleges/programs/majors, the University also offers a large number of “General Scholarships” that are open to most matriculated USM students.
Also, a number of scholarships do not have an application; rather, they require a nomination from a faculty member. If you wish to be considered for any “faculty-nominated scholarship,” please ask a faculty member to nominate you. (USM LAC faculty members have been provided with the necessary forms).
For most scholarships, the recipient must achieve a minimum 3.0 GPA (please note that some scholarships have other GPA requirements); the recipient must also be a continuing USM student who is and will be registered for six or more USM credits during the semester(s) in which the award is credited to his/her account.
There are no restrictions to the number of scholarships to which a student may apply or be nominated. Please review all requirements before applying for any scholarship.
Important Information: Scholarship recipients will be presented with a certificate at the LAC Recognition Day ceremony which will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2012, 11:45 am - 12:45 pm, in the Upstairs Student Lounge at Lewiston-Auburn College. Recipients are strongly encouraged to attend this event not only to be recognized for being awarded the scholarship, but also to thank the people and organizations that donated the funds that made the scholarships possible.
