Master of Occupational Therapy Program

Jumpstart Option*

Get a Jumpstart on your Occupational Therapy education!  We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to complete your undergraduate and graduate education in five (5) years!

START your undergraduate courses: Students must complete all of the university core classes, requirements for their major/undergraduate degree and the prerequisites for the MOT Program.  This comprises approximately 90 credits and would be completed after approximately three (3) years of study.

APPLY to the MOT Program.  If you are accepted, JUMP into the MOT program coursework during your senior year.  500 level OT courses are used as general electives toward the 120 hours needed for your baccalaureate degree.  Earn your Baccalaureate degree at the end of your senior year.

Continue with MOT coursework.  Students then continue in the MOT Program and  receive their Master of Occupational Therapy degree upon completion of all MOT academic and fieldwork requirements.

Earn your Master of OT degree at the end of your fifth year!  If you are interested in pursuing this option, please call (207) 753-6500 to set up an advising appointment with Student Services at USM Lewiston/Auburn as soon as possible.  If you have any questions about the MOT Program specifically please call the MOT Program at (207) 753-6523.

*Please note: participation in the Jump Start option does NOT guarantee admission to the MOT program.  Each applicant joins the competitive applicant pool for consideration for admission.
