Local Community Organizations Seek Greater
Collaboration
July 2005
A number of local student and community-based organizations
met recently at USM's Lewiston Auburn College to discuss opportunities
for greater collaboration in order to better serve the Lewiston-Auburn
community. Joint programming, information sharing, and a calendar
of events were some of the ideas discussed. The first joint
venture of this new collaboration will be an event to be held
on September 11th. This community event will include discussions
of the effects of 9/11 on American society, federal funding
and the war on terror, immigrant experiences, and how these
challenges are being met on the local and national levels.
