Do you remember the last time that you had your blood pressure
checked? If you don’t, it might be time to have it
re-checked. Here are a few reasons why:
One out of three US
adults has high blood pressure, but because there are
no symptoms many people don’t know
they have it.
High blood pressure that is not treated can
put you at greater risk for diseases such as stroke,
heart attack,
kidney disease
and other illnesses.
Many chronic diseases become more
difficult to manage when someone has high blood pressure/hypertension.
The Healthy USM Wellness Committee will be sponsoring a
free blood pressure clinic so that you can have your blood
pressure checked. It only takes a few minutes and it’s
painless! Your results will be kept strictly confidential;
that means that no one (employer nor your health insurance
company) will see your report but you.
Do yourself a favor and take this opportunity to get your
blood pressure checked. See listing of dates, times, and
locations where free clinics will be offered. No appointment
is needed-first come first served!
