Is Environmentalism Bad for the Economy?
Maine's First District Congressman Tom Allen will speak to
this issue at USM's Lewiston-Auburn College this Thursday,
January 29, 2004. The title of his talk will be A Path to
Sustainable Economic and Environmental Policy. A question
and answer period will follow.
Rep. Allen serves on the House Committee on Energy &
Commerce, which has oversight responsibility of air quality
and environmental health, consumer protection, the supply
and delivery of energy, and interstate and foreign commerce.
Allen also serves on the subcommittees on Energy & Air
Quality and Environment & Hazardous Materials, and is
the co-chair of the House Affordable Medicines Task Force
and the Bipartisan House Oceans Caucus.
This event is open to all LAC students and will be held Thursday,
January 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the upstairs lounge.
