Libby Hall, Christine Trefethen, Karen Betts, and Michelle Michaud, graduate students from the University of Southern Maine, Lewiston-Auburn College, Master of Occupational Therapy program (MOT), recently presented a poster at the American Occupational Therapy Association's Annual Conference in St. Louis, Mo. Students from the MOT program are required to complete a research project over the course of the two year academic program. This is the first group from the MOT program at USM to be accepted to present at the national conference. The poster highlighted information relevant to pediatric occupational therapists who treat children with feeding, eating, and swallowing concerns. The students worked closely with Kris Winston, OTR/L, a faculty member in the MOT program. USM's Office of Graduate Admissions, USM’s Lewiston-Auburn College, and the Lewiston-Auburn College Student Occupational Therapy Organization helped to provide funding for the trip.
The Master of Occupational Therapy program at USM’s Lewiston-Auburn College is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy (ACOTE), of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). The program is an entry-level graduate program that can be completed in two years on a full-time basis. Part time options are also available.
