Do you need a passport or need to renew your passport??
This is your chance to apply for one conveniently on USM's Lewiston-Auburn campus. Passports are the best I.D. to have
when you travel, when you are applying for jobs, etc.
The event is open to anyone in need of a passport or passport
renewal.
The United States Postal Service will have applications
and will take your photo on the following date:
Tuesday, March 6 from 10am - 2pm in the South Lobby, University
of Southern Maine-Lewiston, 51 Westminster St., Lewiston
If you are planning on overseas study or visiting another
country, you should take this opportunity to apply for your
passport or to renew yours.
What you will need to bring:
- Proof of Identity
- A current, valid photo ID (driver’s license, pilot’s license, military ID) is the best form of identification. With any other form of identification (state ID card, college ID), you must have a least four forms of secondary identification. You MUST also be accompanied by a person who has known you for at least 2 years and has acceptable ID.
- ALL CHILDREN MUST BE PRESENT. At least one parent must be present if a child is 14 or older. Both parents or legal guardians must be present with acceptable identification if the child is under 14 years of age. Proof of legal guardianship is required
Fees:
$30 payable to USPS for passport execution fee
$67 payable to Department of State for passport fee or $52 for anyone under 16 (Both include a $12 security fee)
$15 payable to USPS for passport photo fee
Checks or cash only. Passports are good for 10 years.
It takes about 6 weeks for your passport to be ready for
pickup. If you need a passport sooner, there are optional
services with additional fees to quicken the turn-around
time.
