Anyone interested in becoming a nurse is invited to attend an open house and information session to be held December 6 at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn Campus (USM/L-A). Faculty member, advisors, and students from the nursing program will be on hand to discuss the admissions process, program requirements, and curriculum. An informal question and answer period will follow.
The B.S. in Nursing, offered at the Lewiston-Auburn Campus through USM’s College of Nursing and Health Professions, is fully accredited by the National League for Nursing and the Maine State Board of Nursing. Students who enroll in the Lewiston-Auburn based program are able to complete all requirements locally, with no travel to Portland required.
The nursing program is open to traditional first-year college students and to adult learners. Some of the distinctive features of this program include a state-of-the-art nursing lab, local clinical sites, a community partnership-based curriculum, and a coaching program that matches nursing students with local health care professionals.
This informational meeting about the nursing program will be held Wednesday, December 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at USM/L-A on 51 Westminster Street in Lewiston. Light refreshments will be served. Anyone who wishes to attend is asked to call Lynn at 753 6624 or email to lacnursing@usm.maine.edu. More information is also available online at www.usm.maine.edu/lac/nursing.
